The Snowdrop Walk

My home area is very much snowdrop country. Over the years we have found the places where these little beauties bloom in profusion and we usually take an early February snowdrop walk.

The snowdrops may be a little late this year for when we arrived at our best spot for them very few were actually out. It was a scene of promise rather than of fulfilment.

But there were little clumps where the sun got through to them.

And catkins, hanging overhead, were well out.

I tend to associate dandelion clocks with midsummer rather than early February.

We moved on to the area near Canada Woods and there we found goodly drifts of snowdrops.

What little beauties they are!
